First Saturday and Planning Meeting

Members and Friends of RiversWest,

We have two events coming up that you may want to participate in.

On Saturday, Nov 7, the First Saturday in November, we are going to be turning over the Hall Templeton, using rigging designed and assembled by our resident rigging expert, Steve Mahoney. Steve estimates that the rigging he has devised will support and roll over an 800 lb boat. This will add that capability to our already very capable shop, and will be left in place for future use by members. In the Spring we are planning on holding a class in Boat Turning, for which we will charge a small fee. This is your chance to see and participate in a free demo!

On the following Saturday, Nov 14, we are having our Annual Planning Meeting. This will take place at the Fish House at 4343 SE Hawthorne St, Portland, starting at noon. We have a room reserved in the back. All members are invited, we want the broadest possible input as we plan strategy for the club for the next year. We anticipate a year of challenge and change for the club, and want to do everything possible to meet the expectations of the members. If you like what is going on in the club, come and tell us what you like. If you don't, we want to hear that too.

If you have an interest in becoming a board member, we will welcome you with special enthusiasm!

Thank
you,
The
Board
