RiversWest sponsors classes and programs throughout the year.  Have an idea for a class? Contact Julie Leffler, our education coordinator.

Upcoming : Skin on Frame Kayaks, Sept 25-Oct1, 2006.  Space is still available! Brian Schultz is coming back to teach another Modern Skin on Frame Class.  Check out a class description here.  As of May 1, there is space available; check available space here.  
Contact Brian if you're interested in learning from a nationally recognized skin-on-frame expert.  Cost is $1200 for instruction and materials for your very own skin-on-frame kayak.

October 2005 :  Skin-on-frame kayak building.  Brian Schwartz, of Cape Falcon Kayaks, taught a week-long skin-on-frame kayak class in the RiversWest shop.  

June 2005 : At Risk Youth Boat Building. RiversWest and Multnomah County youth built two fine skiffs, and finished a third during our At Risk Youth boatbuilding classes in the summer of 2005.  RiversWest is working with the county toSkin On Frame kayaks make this pilot program into a permanent part of RiversWest.

August 2004 : Family Boat building.   Family Boat Building is a program developed by WoodenBoat Magazine, where families construct a simple boat in 2 or 3 days.  RiversWest built two boats.
