Goal: To learn a systematic method for accurately cutting dovetail joints using marking tools, a backsaw and chisel.
Format of Workshop: Limit of 8 participants. Each participant will be provided a kit to build a dovetail sawing fixture, and a kit to build a small box. We will first assemble the fixtures, then lay out and cut the dovetails. Participants are encouraged to bring appropriate hand tools including layout tools, a block plane, a backsaw set up for ripping, a sharp ½” chisel and clamps. There will be some tools available if you don’t have these.
